Our journey ends in the Land of the Rising Sun. The GMT Tokyo Shibuya is dedicated to Shibuya, the historic district of Tokyo where tradition and modernity coexist side by side. Walking down the street of Shibuya, you’ll see enormous LED screens, towering shopping malls, and an assortment of luxury hotels and restaurants of all types.
Rising Sun
It would be easy to compare it to the iconic Times Square in New York. For a taste of the traditional, you only need to walk off a main street to find an izakaya, or pub, that serves traditional dishes with a plentiful supply of Japan’s own sake. It is using the traditional patterns found on the walls of historic Japanese restaurants that our Out of Order designers have reproduced, and which represents the Rising Sun on the dial.
Wave Effect
Looking at the light gray sunburnt finish on the Full Lume effect dial in the absence of light, you will notice that only the dark gray part illuminate, creating a fascinating wave effect.
Osaka Castle
The laser-engraved caseback depicts the design of a uniquely Japanese art form: the manhole cover. The one you see here sports an image of Osaka Castle during cherry blossom season.

I've been eyeing the the Indigo Automatico Quaranta - Ultra Distressed for awhile because I am half Japanese and love Italy; this watch just made sense. I placed the order on 15 October, mentioned it's a gift to myself for my birthday on 18 October, and it was delivery was expedited and I received on the 17th! A beautiful watch for people who look for originality and true Italian style. A pleasure to have it on and actually with a very precise automatic movement. Until now is between + 10 to -2 at most. Very robust. Only thing is the bezel should be unidirectional instead of bidirectional. But I don’t mind really. It is just s beautiful watch.
This watch is absolutely beautiful. I love the way the face looks with the indices, broad arrow hour hand, GMT hand, date wheel that I can see through the face, and the colors! The color of the bezel is both unique and distinct! And it keeps such great time!!! I haven’t had to reset it since I started wearing it almost two weeks ago. Plus it is a limited addition. It was a great value for the money. I collect a lot of watches and I haven’t been able to take this one off!
I believe in love at first sight; this is exactly what happened to me with this watch. The bezel and dial are very nice. The lume on the dial is good; it keeps glowing throughout the night if you spend enough time under the sun. The bezel lume is less intense than the dial, but it’s okay. The bracelet color couldn’t be better; the distressed effect gives it a unique look. I noticed some rattles on the bracelet, but it’s manageable. I liked the customer service; they are very responsive and provide professional service. I recommend it.
