SCOTCH ON THE ROCKS
AUTOMATIC GMT
Created in celebration of the 50th birthday of our beloved friend, watch journalist Ms.Barbara Palumbo, the What’s On Her Wrist X Scottish Watches "Scotch On The Rocks" Limited Edition” Shaker Series GMT is inspired by the drink in which Barbara -- and so many of us -- has ordered for years to celebrate life's important moments.
"To commemorate my fifty years on this planet, I wanted to create a watch that not only represented the happiness in my life, but also in the lives of so many of my friends and colleagues." She stated. Continuing, "As a Scotch lover -- particularly an Oban lover -- my vision was that the watch would reflect the coloring of both the drink itself as well as the label of my favorite distillery. As I often co-host the Scottish Watches podcast, it was only natural to bring them on board for this collaboration. The other integral part, however, was that I desired for a brand from Italy to create the watch, as I wanted it to reflect my proud Italian roots. There was no better choice for an affordable timepiece that could be available to the public than one made by Out Of Order. Plus, I love that their mantra is that they're 'damaged'... aren't we all, even a little?"
We at Out of Order love new beginnings and new adventures; that’s one of our main, distinguishing features. That’s why here we are, happy and proud, to introduce to you to this new 50-piece numbered Limited Edition. Now available only here.
The Out of Order Shaker Automatic GMT "Scotch on The Rocks" features a case measuring 40mm x 13.08 mm, which is crafted from 316L stainless steel and finished with the patented OOO® aging process as to appear, "distressed."
A good Scotch is created through care, passion, science, and most importantly, time. There is an aging process, which is another reason our friend Barbara chose this libation to copy. The design aesthetic came from the idea that different ages of Scotch and different regions from where they are distilled will result in different colors. The dial's gradient reflects those differences by starting with honey gold toward the 12 o'clock marker then slowly fading into a luxurious caramel darkness by 6 o'clock. The strap of the watch was matched closely in hue to the label used on bottles associated with Barbara's favorite distillery: Oban.
This model is equipped with an automatic movement with GMT function, the Japanese-made Seiko NH34a.
The tambler glass normally used for this timeless drink is embossed up on the 316L stainless steel screw PVD coated-case back, surrounded by barley malt texture that matches the main ingredient which stays at the base of the distillation of this liquor.
Each case back features the logos of What's On Her Wrist and of Scottish Watches, as well as the number of the limited edition purchased (i.e. 1/50 - 50/50), adding even more uniqueness to what is already a rare timepiece.
And where does every good cocktail begin? With a shaker, of course! Our personalized steel shaker sports a laser-engraved logo. Thanks to a specially created galvanic treatment, your shaker is just as delicious on the outside as you enjoy vivid chromatic effects that borrow from all the shades of our dynamic Shaker collection.
